This summer we will be sad to say goodbye to our PRA Emily as she begins her PhD in Microbiology and Immunology at Stanford University this fall! She has additionally been awarded a Stanford Graduate Fellowship, a university-wide award supporting exceptional PhD students across disciplines. She will be dearly missed, but we are so excited to follow along as she begins her graduate school journey!
The 2024 Colorado Immunology and Microbiology Conference was held in Breckenridge! During breaks we had a great time hiking and dressing up for the 90's-themed dinner.
The Clark Lab was "hitting bullseyes" at the 2024 Streptococcal Biology Gordon Research Seminar and Conference in Newry, Maine this August!
As the Clark Lab enters the summer of 2024, we are so excited to announce that not one, not two, but three of our members will be transitioning into new scholastic endeavors here at the CU School of Medicine! Laboratory science professional Sam will remain in the lab to join the Microbiology graduate program, post-baccalaureate scholar Zoe will be starting on an M.D./Ph.D. tract, and research assistant Brian will begin his M.D. We could not be more proud of our Clark Lab Crew and can't wait to see where the next year takes them.

Today we're excited to celebrate our PRA, Sam, whose paper, "Heme sequestration by hemophilin from Haemophilius haemolyticus reduces respiratory tract colonization and infection with non-typable Haemophilus influenzae" was just published in mSphere!
Congratulations to our post-baccalaureate scholar, Zoe, whose paper, "Insights into the role of the respiratory tract microbiome in defense against bacterial pneumonia" was just published in Current Opinion in Microbiology!
